Summary of the Programme.
The effective and efficient management of the payroll and tax function is very crucial to running a successful organisation that not only values its employees, but also complies with relevant legislation. The objective for payroll has always been a simple one–pay your employees accurately and on time. Payroll has historically been seen as a low risk function, generally automated (or outsourced)–one which rarely troubles the higher levels of management, as long as it is running smoothly. The most important contract between a company and its workers is administered by Payroll: accurate pay from the company in exchange for hours worked by the employee. However, some organizations inadvertently take their payroll department for granted, undervaluing the department’s contributions to the organization’s success. The process consists of calculation of salaries and tax deductions of the employees, administrating the retirement benefits and disbursements of salaries to employees. It can also be called as an accounts activity which undertakes the salary administration of employees in the organization. Administrating the employees’ salaries is not an easy task, the HR and accounts department work together to calculate and disburse the salary to the employees.
